Careers Day Spring 2024 Edition
The FMR Careers Day is a one-day event for candidates from diverse communities who are actively looking for current and future employment opportunities to get closer to businesses within the fashion industry and creative sector.
We know that you often struggle to gain access to employers and their teams beyond the screen, so this event is a great chance to bridge the gap, allowing you to connect with and speak to members of the People and Community team, HR or the wider business.
Brand Stands
Get your ticket to meet representatives from Aesop, Selfridges, Dweet, Hugo Boss, Deckers and Tapestry to speak about current career opportunities within their business.
Please note that brand stands will be open between 3pm and 5pm.
Talks and Workshops
We will also host a number of interactive sessions across talks and workshops, that will help talent to develop professionally, and gain further insight about the industry from a range of professionals.
Starting out as a Freelancer
3:30-4pm
Working in house for a business or brand may not be your preferred career route, but where do you begin when exploring the life of a freelancer?
In this fireside chat we’ll speak with two people who have set up on their own, and learn about the steps that they took to build their businesses.
Developing your CV
4:15-5pm
Join us for our 45 minute CV clinic, where you will have the opportunity to speak with an industry professional and gain guidance about how to enhance your CV, and increase your hiring potential.
Career Foundations: Working in Retail
5:30-6pm
A career in fashion retail has been overlooked by some in recent years as a long lasting career path, or one which can enable your journey into head office.
In this fireside chat, we discuss the ways in which a retail position can fuel your growth and equip you with skills that help you to stand out for future job opportunities.
Panel Discussion and Networking
6-8pm
In our final event of the day, we’ll be in discussion with a senior leader of the creative industry to discuss their career journey, which we hope to inspire your own pathway.
Join us for complimentary drinks from 6pm, ahead of the talk starting at 6:30pm. Following the discussion you will have the opportunity to network over drinks with fellow attendees until 8pm.
