Day 1: Session 1 – An introduction to fashion design with British Fashion Council

Time 9:30am – 12:00pm

Learn the fundamentals of how a fashion designer develops the clothes that you buy from one of the worlds most loved brands. You’ll get to learn about the key roles of the design studio team who take part in the design and development process, and have a better understanding of the different roles that you could play in the fashion industry.

During the session, students will develop their own collection moodboard that allows them to produce a theme, gather references and research, and end up with sketches which showcase their design flair and skill.

LUNCH BREAK

Day 1: Session 2 – An introduction to up-cycling with ASOS

Time 1pm – 4pm

We all love to look ready for the runway with our outfit choices, but what cost does it have on the planet? In this hands-on session, students will learn about how sustainable fashion practices can make our clothing choices kinder to the environment.

During the workshop, students will have a chance to create their own look, using repurposed items of clothing and fabric from our crafty tool kit, that they can take home at the end of the day.

DAY ONE COMPLETE

Day 2: Session 1 – Marketing Magic with FARFETCH

Time 9:30am – 12pm

In this session we’ll take attendees through the different stages of marketing a fashion brand, and introduce the group to the different people and teams who are part of the process.

During the session students will get the opportunity to work together as a team and develop their own fashion advertising campaign using tools and tips from the professionals.

LUNCH BREAK

Day 2: Session 2 – Creating a Visual Display with BROWNS

Time 1pm – 4pm

A physical store is a great way to excite customers about the products that you offer, but you need to develop an environment that creates retail theatre and encourages them to become fans of what you offer.

With the support of our partner Browns, we will take you through the process of developing an eye catching space, before you have the opportunity to apply your new found skills to our Visual Experience challenge, where you’ll respond to a brief and create a mood board.

DAY TWO COMPLETE

Day 3: Session 1

Time 9:30am – 11am

Details to be announced soon.

Day 3: Graduation

Time 11:15am – 12pm

To celebrate your success and learnings over the past 2 days, we’ll host a short get together where we’ll hand out certificates.

To apply for your chance to become one of 20 students per week, please follow this link to complete the application by the deadline on 10th July 2022
