About Us

We are The (Fashion) Minority Report, and we exist to create office equality within the fashion industry and creative sector for diverse professionals.

Our clients include Belstaff, Calvin Klein, Farfetch, Pangaia, Joseph and Dunhill.

About the Role

To drive the development of the Hub, we require an experienced mid level Content Editor and Staff Writer to join our team and oversee the output of a small stable of freelance writers.

The Hub is an inclusive online careers platform powered by FMR, which helps 14-30 year olds from diverse backgrounds to better understand the wider intersection of the fashion industry and creative sector. 

The Hub will provide a pool of curated resources that will help to lessen the barriers to access and create a community of like minded next generation fashion industry and creative professionals.

As the Hub Content Editor and Staff Writer, you will have a passion for inspiring and nurturing curious minds about the breadth of the creative sector, with a particular focus on the fashion industry. 

You’ll be responsible for onboarding and working with a talented roster of emerging and experienced writers to produce everything from short, sharp tool kits that explore anything from setting up your business to finding an accountant, articles about industry professionals to longer reported pieces, and potentially essays as well.

All of our content should have a diverse and inclusive lens applied to it, with a focus on helping emerging talent to unlock their potential. We will rely on you to identify article hooks which will resonate.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the business Founder to plan and execute original thought provoking content
  • Developing a weekly strategic roadmap / content calendar that outlines content post frequency and share this with the Founder and other stakeholders when necessary
  • Liaise with social lead to post copy and asset design (as it will appear on each platform) for sign off from all relevant parties
  • Grow and sustain a community of freelance writers
  • Assign, oversee and edit stories from freelance writers across the globe
  • Work with any brand partners to communicate their involvement in select projects across social channels in an exciting way. This also includes participating creatives and talent

Experience

Essential

  • 3+ years of digital editorial experience, with a strong focus on fashion industry and creative sector
  • Excellent writing skills (preferably English native)
  • Able to work across multiple project streams simultaneously 
  • Able to communicate confidently and professionally when liaising with people at all levels

Skills

  • You should be a sharp line editor, good at structuring an argument, cutting superfluous material, and eliminating jargon
  • Positive disposition

  • Resourceful and able to work on own initiative
  • Excellent communicator and adept at keeping all relevant parties up to date on progress
  • Great at building and maintaining relationships

  • Proficient at using google sheets / slides and docs
